For generations, photography was widely considered a reliable documentation of reality. However, as image editing workflows evolved from traditional analog photo-collage into sophisticated digital manipulation and machine learning, that boundary has permanently blurred. Modern discussions challenge the traditional notion of "photographic truth" in an era where images can be entirely synthesized, recontextualized, or fabricated by machines.
